What's moving markets today: Live updates - CNN

Half way through the trading day, stocks are somewhat mixed.

The Dow and S&P 500 both opened higher and have extended their modest gains, with the Dow up some 50 points.

The Nasdaq Composite also kicked the day off higher, but has since reversed direction and is down 0.1%

Chevron (CVX) and Exxon Mobil (XOM) are among the best performers in the Dow, climbing 1.5% and 1.4%, respectively. Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) is also up 1.5%.

In the S&P, chip maker AMD (AMD) is leading top performers with a near 6% gain. Earlier, Morgan Stanley (MS) upgraded the company from underweight to neutral, according to reports.
