U.S. stock markets will be closed Monday in observance of Labor Day.
The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association also recommends that bond markets shut down for the holiday.
Foreign and currency markets are scheduled to be open.
The New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq will resume normal trading on Tuesday.
While the market has rebounded so far this week, August has been a characteristically volatile month for stocks, with worries about the U.S. trade war with China taking a toll that has been amplified by light trading volumes and a scarcity of buyers. The holiday will provide an extended respite for investors.
