Investors have one more full day of trading on New Year's Eve before ending 2019 on a high note.
It’s been a banner year for stocks. Heading into the final full day of trading on New Year's Eve, the Dow Jones industrial average and the Standard & Poor’s 500 have each rallied more than 20%.
The stock market is open New Year's Eve. The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, however, recommends for the bond market to shutter early Tuesday at 2 p.m. ET. Both are closed New Year's Day.
Trading will resume on Thursday, Jan. 2, giving investors a glimpse at how markets will kick off the new year.
